Tom Brindley Talks to ED2 Textiles students

Below, some beautiful drawings that Tom completed whilst studying the Foundation course here at HCA.

Whist studying at the college Tom pushed screen printing to the limits, he printed multi layered prints to produce almost 3D like images.

Tom came to HCA with a very definate path for himself in Illustration but whilst studying here and working in the Textiles workshop, he began to realise that Textiles was a specialism that offered him everything from drawing to surface design...Tom secured himself a place on BA (hons) Textile Design at Falmouth. Below are some of the weave samples he produced during his first year on the course.

Drawing and stitch samples.
 Some stunning digital prints.

Whilst studying at Falmouth, the Textiles Design course was set a live brief by 'Joules' (a high end clothing company) Tom was the winner of this live brief and will be spending a month on work placement with them in the summer.

Below, some lovley examples of Heat Transfer printing (Heat Sublimation)

I would just like to say a massive THANK YOU to Tom who gave up his own time to come and speak to our second year Textiles students and show us his amazing work...i predict BIG things for Tom in the future...so watch this space. Thanks tom
